My First REAL Haircut

Today Mommy took me to a real hair salon for kids and I got my hair cut! I did a fairly good job sitting still so the lady could cut it, although it was easy because I was sitting in a car that reminded me of being in the wagon. She, like many other ladies commented on what wonderful hair I have, especially the color. She called it beige. Either way, it's really nice not to have hair laying on my neck anymore. It's just in time because the hot, humid summer weather is back to stay for a while in North Carolina. Luckily, next week we are going to visit Grammie and Gramps and hopefully it won't be as hot there!

My First Big Trip!

Daddy and me on Father's Day!
It was a big week for me! I got to go on an airplane and fly to Chicago! With a big smile on my face, I did my best to behave during our travels and for the most part I did a good job on my travels to Mimi and Papa's house. Being in a different house was very new to me, but I got used to it after a while. It was easy since there was a lot to keep me occupied. I enjoyed watching the cat scurry through the house and there was so much to see out the big front window! Stairs are a lot of fun to climb, but I have yet to figure out how to descend them. I have a bruise on my forehead to prove that!
Papa took me for wagon rides and walks around the backyard, and he is especially good at giving me baths. I also had a good time with my Mimi who did a great job feeding me and giving me bottles; something that I don't let most people do. We went to the park a lot and I got to swing. I even found out I am good at climbing up slides! I really do enjoy seeing lots of new things, which we definitely did on our visit. We went to the Botanic Garden, we saw a big lake at the beach, I saw a big silver choo choo train (which Papa got off of a few times), I visited new supermarkets, and discovered that I am not  afraid of heights. This, I figured out when we went to see Mimi and Papa's new apartment in Chicago. I think I could get used to a place like that!
Lastly, I have discovered that the ladies like me. Everywhere I go I get comments on how cute I am. Flight attendants, passengers, neighbors - and especially Mimi. All I have to do was smile and I can melt hearts!

Week of Rest

Walking with my birthday balloons.
After all the excitement last week, I had the opportunity to catch up on rest and keep practicing walking. It has gotten hot outside practically overnight which means now we take morning walks and the pool has made an appearance! I never would have thought when we got the pool for Easter that it would get so hot, but boy I enjoy splashing around in the pool to cool off! Hopefully we will do some more swimming as the summer progresses, because I love hanging out in my bathing suit!
