Happy Halloween 2015!

I had a HOOT of a halloween this year! I had plenty of costumes to chose from for this year's celebration and I chose to be an owl! I really enjoyed being an owl, and most people that saw my costume loved it!!! I make such a cute owl! I did a good job getting the candy treats on my own this year too, except for the fact that my bag got so heavy with candy I couldn't carry it!
Carving pumpkins was fun, except the actual carving part; I was not going to put my hands in that nasty stuff! Mommy gave us markers to put a design onto our pumpkins and I had fun scribbling on it. Maybe next year I'll be brave enough to touch the pumpkin goo!

Concrete

The heron we visit at the pond.
I finally learned what comes out of concrete trucks! It's a grey sludgy, heavy mess! Over the weekend, Daddy finished our landscaping in the backyard by installing the fire pit. Part of installing it included mixing concrete in the wheelbarrow and I enjoyed watching him mix it. It was hard to mix though!
When Daddy finally poured the concrete into the pit area, he let me help to spread it to make a nice surface. When it dried the next day, Cora and I touched it and it was hard! Concrete is amazing!
Earlier in the week, the landscaper men came and planted the trees while I was at school. When I got home I helped Mommy move all of the mulch into place. I had fun climbing on the piles and pretending it was my house. Dirt is tons of fun!

Enjoying lunch with a view of the new backyard!

Fun Run!

This week at school, we had a fun run! I remember going to see Cora at her fun run, so I'm happy that I got to do my own. Luckily, Cora and Mommy could both be there to cheer for me! An important lesson that I learned from when Cora did her first fun run (when she was in the pre-k 3 class) was hold the teacher's hand so I don't trip and fall. There were a lot of kids that were falling in the parking lot and crying, but not me! I am one smart kid! Plus, when you run with your teacher, like I did with Mrs. Diprisco, you don't have to run that fast!
Mommy really gets a kick out of the way I say certain words, most of them being types of foods. Right now, she loves how I say cottage cheese. I used to not like it, but I've started eating it when Mommy does. Sometimes I pick up things Mommy says that she doesn't even realize. Such as: one day she was getting an apple out for me to eat at lunch. She said, "This isn't a Fuji apple, what do you think it is?" My reply: Cripps Pink. It was actually a Gala apple, but Mommy was impressed that I had remembered the name of an apple that she had bought only once at the grocery store! Like I said before, I am one smart, observant kid!

School is Cool!

Now that we are back and settled from our travels, I've finally gotten back into my school routine. This week I surprised Mommy by telling her as we were getting into the car for school that I was excited to go! Although I didn't get a sticker one day because another kid and me hit each other, I usually have a great day at school and do my best to behave! Mrs. Houchin says that I am not as shy these days and I actually learned that my name starts with the letter A!
It rained and rained and rained for what seemed like forever when we got back from Texas. The day before the rain started, we went to fly a kite because it was a cloudy windy day. Flying a kite was fun! I can't believe how much the kite pulls when the wind catches it! I scream with excitement when it goes up and down like a spaceship! Once the rain started we had to stay inside most of the time, and it seemed like every time we tried to go out to splash in puddles with our rain boots, it would start to pour! Luckily Cora was home for most of the rainy days, but she eventually had to go back to school. Now I get two days a week with just Mommy and me.
This past week, some landscape men came and cut all the trees down in our backyard! For almost a whole hour, I just sat quietly on the front steps watching the men use the digger to put tree limbs in the back of a dump truck! It was so mesmerizing to watch! The backyard seems so much bigger to play in now. Speaking of playing, when we went to the big park today, Daddy was impressed with how much I could do at the big kids playground. I can almost keep up with Cora climbing the ladders and sliding down the slides!
Today, Daddy set up his drum set in the attic! It was so much fun to play! Listening to Daddy play the drums makes me want to dance!
