Ski Pro!

First time up the lift with Richie!
We had a spectacular trip to Breckenridge, Colorado! There were plenty of highlights to our trip, but I would have to say one of the most exciting things was learning how to ski! I was skeptical after my first day of ski school when I could barely stand up on the skis without dropping to my butt, however by the end of the week (my third class) we traveled up the ski lift, yes ski lift, 8 times! By the end of the second day after our first trip up the ski lift, I proudly announced that I skied all the way from the top of the mountain! The best part of ski school was of course the skiing, but I also got to be in class with Cora and Saige, which was great cousin time! Plus, we had a great coach named Richie Rich! (Actually Richard Richmond). We didn't get to have Richie on the last day of ski school, but our coach, David, was a jokester! He made jokes about bear farts, sleepovers, and only being 8 years old (he said his parents stretched him out!).
When we weren't skiing, we were either riding the gondola, playing in the snow, or sledding at the sled hill down in town. It was a fast sled hill, but it didn't scare me at all! It was no fun hiking up to the top, but after each exhilarating ride to the bottom, I wanted to do it all over again. When we were just hanging out at the house, I would pretend that I was a black bear. Funny enough, when we went to the Nordic Center I found a sculpture of a black bear!
We also took a drive up to the Hoosier Pass one day to view the beautiful Rocky Mountain scenery. Let's also not forget we celebrated Mom's birthday and Mimi's birthday, complete with a showing of Cars! There was always something fun to do, but I will never forget my first trip to Colorado where I learned to ski!

Happy 66th Birthday Mimi!

A Fast Learner!

It doesn't take me long to pick up new things. It also doesn't hurt that I have an excellent teacher. Dad recently taught me how to tie my shoes. Guess what? In a matter of a few tried, I was tying like a pro!  I am proud of myself for being able to do that; something most of my friends still can't do. Speaking of my friends, I'm quite a social guy these days. Last weekend I went to a birthday party and had an absolute BLAST. We played lots of games, had pizza, s'mores, cupcakes and popcorn. When it was nighttime, we sat in teepees and watched a movie.

The other day I had a playdate at the park where a bunch of my friends from school got together. While we were there, I caught Mom off guard and went right across the monkey bars, completely unassisted. Again, I pick things up quickly once I'm ready to do it - especially with a big sister that I look up to!
