Halloween Themed Drawings

Just in time for Halloween, I have begun to expand my new drawing talents to arachnids! This week at school, we finger painted spiders and that put me in the mood to draw spiders. Although my spiders may have two or twenty legs, the important part is that I can draw circles and lines together!! At school,  Ms Tracey was very impressed that I started drawing circles, in fact she called me precise and focused - quite a compliment for a two year old!! Ms Tracey found it amusing that everybody else painted their spiders at 9AM, and I didn't allow her to put my hands in the paint until 11AM! I am quite particular about certain things! To name a few things I'm particular about: I must have all my friends just so in my big bed before I can go to sleep; for naptime I must have at least 2 trucks with me to fall asleep; going potty is not complete without trying to poop.

In other news regarding the upcoming Halloween holiday - I am excited for it to be here, and excited for it to be over. Why, you may ask? I am terrified of any type of mannequin or masked person. Even if I see the person put a mask on (and it's a 4 year old child) I don't like it. Ms Tracey has a human sized witch figure on her front porch that freaked me out when I went to school! Scary things are everywhere right now! Pumpkins, spiders, skeletons, I can handle those. Masks, NO THANK YOU!
I got a nice compliment from my cousin Kaitlyn the other day. She said I'm really good at talking on the phone. That comes from good practice with grandparents as well as some great role models.
Pick a bulb out of the bag....
...and toss it in the hole!
Last but not least, the weather has been spectacular this weekend! We have spent a lot of time outside including our second annual bulb planting at Daffodil Days. This time we planted bulbs at the pond and I did a great job throwing the bulbs in the hole!

Big Bed!

A big boy who is potty trained obviously deserves a big boy bed! I finally get to sleep in a real bed!! The very first thing I asked for after I climbed into my new bed was a pillow! No big bed is complete without one! My first nap and full night's rest in it went pretty well.
Now that I have a big bed, Cora comes to play in my room now! It's fun cuddling in my bed with her. She and I have had a lot of meetings or parties (whichever you would like to call them) recently. We've only had a couple in her bedroom, but this weekend we had one in my bed, then we had another in the clubhouse. Meetings are fun because Cora grabs as many toys as she can (since she's the one that gets them out, she usually has to put most of them away) and we sit together and pretend party. We read, draw, talk, argue over toys, pretty much like a grown up meeting!

I've Discovered Drawing!

Drawing intently
It sort of just happened overnight. There was no practicing while I was on break from school. I just picked up the crayon and started drawing. Well, for me it's a bit like scribbling, but it counts. And, to mark a milestone, just today I drew my first shape on the magna doodle (not to mention the scribbling I did on the hardwood floor with the crayons!). I am now a spectacular circle drawer! I think I was able to surprise Mommy with my newest achievement. Impressive, huh?? I'll have to show my friends at school next week. Which, by the way, I had a great first week back for Track 2. No crying, plus I was able to prove all of Mommy's hard work potty training me. No accidents; well except maybe a little overspray on Tracey, but I think she was impressed!

I drew a circle - surprise face!!

My First Zoo Experience

While I did visit the zoo at the age of 5 months, I'm not quite sure if it counts. The North Carolina Zoo is lots of fun, which I don't remember from my last visit. This will count as my first visit. It was a great time! I did a really good job walking on my own (there was a ton of walking to visit all the animals) and as long as Mommy or Daddy could hold me up, I got to see most of the animals. I really liked the gorillas, ostrich and elephants. Better yet, they had a helicopter which I got to sit in - THAT was cool. There was also a safari truck that I got to see. I enjoyed seeing all the animal sculptures and getting to ride a bear on the carousel was exciting!
I know that Mommy and Daddy had a great time visiting the zoo too. What made the visit even better was my ability to make it to the bathrooms all day long without an accident! They were really proud of me and think that I'm really doing a great job with my potty training! In fact, last week I got my first celebratory ice cream cone for gong all day without an accident. Mark your calendars, it was October 3!! I return to school again this week to start Track 2. I hope that I can keep up my potty training skills!
