Trip to Texas

Part II. I thought the cherry on top was Thomas, but the fun was just getting started! Daddy arrived in Texas on Friday night just before we went to bed. Then, on Saturday morning we woke up, had breakfast and made our way (we got to go over train tracks!) to a children's museum called the Thinkery. My favorite parts of the museum were the wooden train table and jumping around the mats in the exercise room. I still get anxious when there are lots of kids around me and the museum was crowded. Hopefully being in school will help me conquer my anxiety when there are kids around me. We headed back to Mimi and Papa's house for lunch and after that we changed into our bathing suits in preparation for the splash pad!
The splash pad was at a park and there were lots of different spray waters spewing water everywhere! I was hesitant at first, afraid of where the water was spraying, but after a while, getting a little water on my head wasn't that big of a deal. Thankfully, it was really hot in Texas, so the spray water was a perfect activity. That night, Mommy and Daddy went out to dinner, so we had a night in with Saige, while Mimi and Papa babysat us.
Sunday was a fun day! We went to Kiddie Acres, an amusement park for kids! We got to ride all of the rides: a carousel, planes, boats, ferris wheel and train! I really liked the airplanes. They had real propellers that made it windy and helped us fly in a circle. We had a special treat of ice cream after we left Kiddie Acres at Amy's Ice Cream. It was cool because after we ate our chocolate chip ice cream there was a playground to play on! I had so much fun running across the bridge and going down the slide! We had some down time at Mimi and Papa's house but before I knew it we were leaving to go eat dinner.
The place we went was fun because there was a band playing music, people dancing and a playground where we could have lots of fun! I really enjoyed my mac and cheese, but there was so much excitement going on, there was no way I could finish. I just wanted to get up and dance! Mimi really knows the places for kids to have fun!
Jamming out on my guitar!
Dancing with Mimi!
We had so much fun over the weekend, Monday was a low key day. Mommy and Daddy had a day to themselves, so Mimi and Papa took us kids for a walk along a lake in the morning, then after lunch we took a stroll by the dinosaur to the park where we played for a bit. Before I knew it, Marcus and Tracie came over for dinner, Mommy and Daddy arrived back at the house and we had dinner and started packing our things to go home. I guess the trip to Texas had to end eventually. Luckily on the way home I got a window seat on both airplanes! A great end to a great trip!

Trip to Texas!

PART I.  I'm not sure if I am getting my way when I say I don't like school, but we left for the airport on Wednesday morning when I was supposed to be going to school. We were going to Texas to visit Mimi, Papa, Uncle Marcus, Aunt Tracie and Saige! I had a blast at the airport watching planes, getting on the plane, walking on escalators and moving walkways, and having a picnic lunch on the plane with Mommy. Daddy would join us a few days later in Texas. When the plane had landed in Austin, Mimi and Papa picked us up at the airport and took us to their house. As Mommy was getting our stuff settled, Cora and I had fun blowing bubbles in the backyard, painting and playing musical instruments. I loved marching around clanging the cymbals and banging on the drum! To get out more energy, we walked by a cool rock n' roll dinosaur to a park a few blocks away from Mimi and Papa's house. I had fun pretending that the playground equipment was an airplane I was flying. Shortly after we got back to the house, Marcus, Tracie and cousin Saige met us for dinner. We would have to sleep good at night (I didn't sleep the best, but that's normal) because Mimi had lots of fun activities planned for us!
To start things off on Thursday, we went to Zilker Park where we visited a Nature Center. There, we saw different birds and animals, and went on a dinosaur dig. Running around with Saige is fun because she is exactly my size! Finally, after asking over and over for lunch, we had a fun picnic in the park followed by a ride on the Zilker Zephyr. I liked the train ride that took us through a tunnel and all around the park, but better yet, I got to cross over the train's tracks many many times. We were exhausted from all the park play so we relaxed the rest of the evening after dinner with Marcus, Tracie and Saige.
On Friday, we woke up and Mimi told us that we were going to see Thomas the Train! WHAT?!?! Yes! We drove to a place called Burnet, where we went to "A Day Out with Thomas." We started with a ride on the train, which Thomas was pulling! The train was fun, although I wasn't thrilled that we went backwards before we went forwards! I kept asking why we were going backwards. After our ride, we took pictures with Thomas, got balloon swords and watched a magic show and puppeteer while eating snack. Mommy thought that I would fall asleep on the way home, but of course I did not. I was more hungry than tired, so thankfully we got to enjoy a pizza dinner picnic under a big oak tree! I at a whole slice of pizza myself!

My First Day of Pre-School!

Pre-K 3 is finally in session! While I technically have been to preschool before, this is actually the real deal. I am attending St Catherine, the same place where Cora went to school and my teacher's name is Mrs. Houchin. Mommy was skeptical about how my day would go because when she tried to take my first day of school picture before we left, I refused to turn around for my picture. I surprised her though, because when we got to school, I went into the bathroom all by myself and washed my hands and then confidently proceeded to the classroom. I hung up my bag and settled right into playing cars with one of my new friends before Mommy and Cora even got out of the classroom. Cora was especially helpful showing me where to hang my backpack and what to do with my folder. I'm glad that she is tracked out of school and could be with me on my first day!
When Mommy and Cora came to pick me up, my teacher reported that I had an excellent day. In fact, I received a sticker on my daily sheet! I colored a big blue apple at school and sang songs, my favorite one being, Work and play, work and play, that's what we did today! Before we got in the car to go home, I had fun running around the courtyard in front of the school, something that I had been very shy about doing when picking up Cora.  My first day of school was a Wednesday, so I had school on Friday. Friday wasn't as good as my first day because I was tired from the night before. A thunderstorm had come in the middle of the night and there was some loud thunder that kept me awake. Although I was tired, I still got a sticker. We learned The Itsy Bitsy Spider and as a special surprise, Daddy came to pick me up at school!
It was an eventful week, and the excitement didn't stop Friday. We went to Daddy's company picnic at a big park on Saturday. There was a clown there making balloons, a playground, frisbee, and a fire truck serving us hamburgers and hot dogs. I got up enough courage to tell Mimi the clown that I wanted a mailman truck shaped balloon. Except she didn't hear all of it and what I got was a mailman balloon. I still enjoyed my balloon! After our picnic Daddy and I went shopping at a really big outdoor store called Gander Mountain while Mommy and Cora went shopping for clothes. We finished our day eating at a restaurant that had weird paintings on the walls and masks everywhere. It was a really great Saturday!

Throwback Thursday

Last Thursday, Mommy finally remembered to try a really cool outfit on me. She called it a train conductor costume, but it was actually an outfit my Uncle Marcus wore when he was my age. Mimi actually made it! I had fun dancing around in it and pretending I was a train conductor. The only problem with the outfit was it took forever to take on and off, so maybe that's why I've never worn it previously.
Cora finished with her first quarter of school so now I'm excited for her to be home with me for a while. To celebrate her last day of school we went out for ice cream! I could get used to this…Cora does a good job and I get ice cream!
