3 YEARS OLD!

I still may have trouble holding up three fingers and remembering how old I am, but there is no doubt about it - I AM 3! The great part about being born near a holiday is that your birthday can sometimes span an entire weekend, which it did! We had a relaxing Memorial Day holiday (when I got dressed in the morning, I shuffled through my T-shirt drawer looking specifically for my American flag shirt, unprovoked) and because Daddy was off from work we celebrated my birthday. My real birthday is today, Tuesday but it was nice that we could gather in the afternoon and I could open my presents and play with them a day before my birthday. I was so excited for my presents this year, I kept gasping with excitement. When I came out onto the screened porch I was overjoyed to see my very own lawnmower. Then, everything was "cool" upon unveiling the wrapping paper - I got a parking garage, sunglasses and a book (I did not find that cool, in fact I liked it so much after I unwrapped it I tossed it on the floor behind me). I got my very own computer to use now from Grammie and Gramps, plus Grammie made me my birthday shirt. Good luck getting me to take a decent posed picture in it though. When I saw Mimi and Papa today on the phone they told me that a gift for me was on it's way after they sang me happy birthday. It's kind of fun to spread out the gift fun!

After Memorial Day dinner, I got to see the birthday cake that Mommy made for me! And wow, was it cool! It was a fast airplane cake, just like the airplanes we saw at the airshow! Daddy pretended like he was starting the engines when he lit the candles and I had a great time blowing them out after Mommy, Daddy and Cora sang to me! I had a great birthday, and I was so excited that now I get to have my own toy in my room - my parking garage!!!

From Earth to Sky

We had an excellent visit with Grammie and Gramps last weekend! I had a special morning with Gramps fishing at the pond while we waited for Cora to come home from school. When she got home we went strawberry picking! This time we picked lots and lots of strawberries although I didn't really contribute much to the bounty. I focused more on eating. The next day, we got to spend the day with Grammie and Gramps. They took us to Pullen Park where we enjoyed all the rides, plus a special treat of ice cream. It was a great day with them! I didn't think there was anything that could top off a great weekend, but Sunday we went to an Air Show called Wings Over Wayne! I loved seeing the airplanes everywhere, going inside a big plane, and I was in awe of the Thunderbirds. They were so loud and went so fast! The smoke that followed them was especially interesting. After a few passes I realized that I should cover my ears when I knew the plane was coming. From water, land to the air, the weekend was a fun time!

Twinsies

To make things exciting, one day Cora and I dressed in the same shirt so that we could be Penn State Shirt Twinsies! I think that I definitely wear the shirt better than Cora, but she is my best bud and it was fun being a twinsie with her! To prove how much I love my sister, we took her to a dance class with the other Cora yesterday and when they closed the door to the dance room I got really upset! Tears were flowing. I wanted to see Cora dance, and more importantly, I WANTED TO DANCE! Maybe I can try dancing in a few years.

A Mid Week Excursion

It's finally strawberry season and last week, Mommy surprised us after school and said that we were going strawberry picking. A short ride down the road later, we arrived at Hunt's farm picking (and eating) strawberries! We had the entire field to ourselves and in no time we had enough strawberries for a few days worth. As an added bonus we made angel food cake and got to have strawberries for dessert! We also celebrated Mother's Day over the weekend. I think Mommy really liked the cards that I helped make her at school!
Mommy, thanks....for 'raising' me right!

Meet in the Street

Oh all the feet you meet in the street! Festivals are not the most exciting activity when you are 3 feet tall. We went to a festival this weekend which was nice because the weather was beautiful, but I didn't really have a good time until I realized we could have ice cream for a special treat after dinner and someone handed me a balloon. I really enjoyed my balloon, and I was content to sit and watch Cora while she completed the fire department obstacle course.
Daddy really likes his new job. He is at work a lot during the week, but he gets home early on Friday afternoons and the past two weeks we have enjoyed a catnap on the couch together. With him working so hard and me not napping daily anymore we have to catch up on our rest!
