One Full Week Done!

I've officially had one full week of kindergarten. Surprisingly, I'm not tired, cranky or emotional when I get home after a whole day at school. I don't even have to rest during rest time. Today I got my first flower! You can earn points during the day for behaving and being a good listener, and because I earned 5 points, I grew a flower! Mom and Dad can see my activity on their phone through an app called Bloomz. They know I have been doing well at school! I'm starting to learn my friends names and get into the routine. My most favorite part of the day would have to be when we get introduced to the new Letterland Letters. Munching Mike looks really cool, I can't wait until we get to M! I'm still loving the bus ride home - everyday when I get home I run upstairs to get my Playmobile school bus and zoom it around pretending it's my bus!

Kindergarten Bound

Guess where I went this week?!?! I went to Kindergarten! I wouldn't say that I have officially started Kindergarten yet because I was only at the school on Thursday. That morning, I woke up, got ready  and Dad took me to Jones Dairy Elementary where I had a practice day in my classroom with a few other students in my class. We learned about the classroom, what our schedule would be like during the day and we took a tour of the school looking for Pete the Cat! Dad was proud of how well I confidently walked into the school, went straight to my classroom (Cora told me what to look for) and marched right in without hesitation. It was a great day, and it all ended with a bus ride home! That was my very favorite part of the day! Luckily, Cora was on the bus and she told me to get off the bus at our stop - otherwise I don't think I would have been getting off the bus!
My first day at Kindergarten was especially memorable because the night before, Cora and I had a campout in the living room because the upstairs air conditioner wasn't working. Talk about exciting!
I can't wait to see what happens when I go for my real very first day of kindergarten!

Survivor Week in PA

It was a great trip to PA visiting with Grammie and Gramps. The beautiful weather complemented a week jam-packed with activities. Highlights of the week were Delgrosso's Amusement Park, spending the night at camp, playing at parks (my favorite being PlayLand at Memorial park, a boys trip to a baseball museum and a visit back to Kinzua Bridge - still a fascinating place to me!
As always on our way, we stopped at Delgrosso's. I did enjoy the kiddie rides, but they weren't as fun without Cora riding with me. This time however, Grammie took me for a spin on the bumper cars! Luckily she is a very conservative driver so we didn't get bumped too bad. We had dinner there, then headed the rest of the way to St Marys. We weren't in St Marys long before we were packing up and getting ready for camp. The weather was beautiful for our Survivor Camp Day! The activities were non-stop; Grammie had such a long list of activities we had to wait until we woke up the next morning to finish all of them!

My favorite games were the squirt gun challenge and the water balloon toss, although they were all tons of fun! When Matt, Nicole and Conner arrived at camp, we played a game where we had to put on crazy clothes if the music stopped with you holding a bag being passed around the circle. It was hilarious! We had a piƱata, a picnic dinner, released sky lanterns, and enjoyed a campfire to finish the first day. Then, the next day, we relaxed by the river, took a drive in the side by side, had our scavenger hunt, then finished our camp fun with mountain pies by the fire. We had a great time at camp!

We finished our week with a boys trip to Brockville, PA to visit the BWP Baseball Bat Factory. It was interesting to see the bats but we didn't spend a lot of time there. I enjoyed time with the boys though. The next day we made pies and played lots of games in addition to a visit to Memorial Park.
Toward the end of our trip we got to go to Kinzua Bridge! My favorite! This time they had a museum we explored before going out to the sky walk. Plus, it was sooooo windy on the bridge; if you put your arms out it was like you were flying! I can't imagine what it would have been like when the tornado blew the bridge down! I was almost as obsessed with the bridge as I was with the fireworks that we got to see the following night on July 3rd. We got showered after playing squirt guns in the back yard, enjoyed a movie, then when it was completely dark, we walked down the street, waited for what felt like FOREVER, then finally saw an awesome fireworks show! A great way to celebrate the 4th of July and a wonderful way to end summer break and start school!
