Mom Time

Spring break from school lasted forever, so Mom and I had lots of quality time together. One day we flew kites near the suspension bridge, another day we took a trip downtown to Marbles Museum, and I've been building lots of bases in the playroom. Everyday while watching my favorite show, WordWorld, I use the sofa cushions, pillows, tables, and blankets draped over all of it to create exciting bases. Even though I'm back in school, Mom and I have still been doing special things together since the other day Cora had her Daddy/Daughter dance. While they were at the dance, Mom and I went strawberry picking followed by a special dinner at a restaurant! Even though I spilled water all over her, I think Mom has been enjoying our time together.
She knows in just two short months I start kindergarten! In preparation for kindergarten, Mom has been urging me to keep writing my letters. One day I did an entire crossword puzzle on my own. The answers were given to me in lowercase letters and I had to figure out where they went and write it in uppercase letters. I'm proud of how well I can write!

This weekend we took a special trip to visit Sarah, a friend of Mom and Dad's before I was born. We went to a farm to visit her because she owns a horse that we visited! Buckeye was a cool horse! Sarah taught us all that you have to do to prepare a horse before riding. You have to brush them, clean out their hooves and put on their saddle. Cora took a ride on Buckeye (I wasn't too interested in that) and after she was done, we fed Buckeye a snack and gave him a bath. It was lots of fun learning about the horse and I enjoyed spending the day at the farm!

Easter Break!

I'm officially on Spring break from school. This past Tuesday was my last day and I won't be back for  two weeks. In the midst of my break, we had an egg-cellent Easter! Luckily, Cora didn't have school on Good Friday so I had a playmate Friday morning. On Friday evening, we dyed Easter eggs. This year, I did everything myself from dropping them in to waiting patiently for them to turn beautiful shades of blue and green. Then, on Saturday we walked over to the neighborhood Easter egg hunt. Although Mommy and Daddy thought I was prepared to run out and collect eggs, when the hunt started, I just stood there looking at all the eggs at my feet, holding my bag. After a while I picked up a few eggs, just in time before they were all gone. After the egg hunt, we ate a small snack, then visited with the Easter bunny. I really enjoyed meeting the bunny!
The bunny must have heard me because the next morning, he had brought me exactly what I wanted! He brought me a new desk for my room and a bell for my bicycle! I was so excited! After church we got to put my bell on my bike and I would ride around in circles ringing my bell! We also got lots of candy and a pencil sharpener for Easter! After hard boiled eggs for lunch, Daddy put my desk in my bedroom so I could show it to everybody on the phone that afternoon! I love my desk! And I love how it fits perfect in the corner. Now I have a place to construct all my Lego creations!!

100 Days Smarter!

Last week at school we celebrated our 100th day with some fun activities. We ate 100 snacks, counted to 100 by 10's and did a puzzle with 100 pieces. There were also lots of other special activities to mark a very special day. We also a morning of Dad's and Donuts. Dad came to visit me one morning at school and while I enjoyed the donut holes, Dad said that I was the "fruit guy" I ate so much fruit! I also went to my second birthday party. It was a really fun party for a kid in my class. Cora had to come along because she was not in school, but it was fun with her there. We got special backpacks and we did lots of activities to bust ghosts because we were Ghostbusters! We watched an explosion and shot ghosts with nerf guns.
Mommy should start a quote corner for me because I say some of the darnedest things. Here's one such conversation:
Mom (waking me up in the morning): "Did you hear the rain last night?"
Me: "No, I was in a deep sleep...no no no no, I was in a hard hard sleep, like wood."
Now when I have a good night's sleep I say I slept like wood.
