Fun Run Castle Quest

There was lots of fanfare and preparation for the big day, and it finally arrived. The Fun Run!! Castle Quest! I can even do the arm movements when I say it! I was proud of my performance at the Fun Run. I ran all 35 laps, had no mishaps and actually enjoyed the whole thing. It helped having Mom at the water station cheering me on!
Fun Running!
That night we celebrated Cora's 7th birthday. She had a unicorn cake. It was delicious! One of Mom's best. Although it was hard seeing her get all the attention for her big day, I was very happy for her. The next day, she had a birthday party. Some of her friends came over to the house. Again, I had to lay low and let it be for her, but I did enjoy the movie Moana. Then on Sunday we went to a Durham Bulls game! I had a great time watching the game and enjoying the atmosphere. At the end of the game they flew a helicopter into the stadium and it dropped a bunch of balls into the outfield. After the helicopter flew out of the stadium, they let all the people run out into the field to get a ball. Dad wasn't going to let us go, but at the very last minute we all ran onto the field. I ran all over searching for a ball but I couldn't find one. In the process, I lost Dad too. Although I was separated for a little while, I managed to find them again once the outfield cleared out a bit - and I ended up with a ball too! Now we will have to wait until next season for another game since it was the last game of the season.

The Great American Eclipse!

If there were sound to this photo, you would hear crickets chirping!
Today (8/21/2017) we witnessed something historically spectacular! Mom picked us up from school after lunch and took us home. The entire ride I couldn't stop taking about what I had learned at school about solar eclipses. When we got home, the eclipse was just getting started. With special glasses, we were able to look directly at the sun to see the moon slowly cover up the sun. An hour and a half after it started, the crickets started to chip, it got dim outside and through the sunglasses I saw just a thin crescent through the glasses! How cool! I'm so excited that I was able to witness such an amazing event!

Splash Pad Fun!

Luckily I don't have homework yet at school, so we still have lots of fun when I get home from school. If I'm not playing with my school bus, zooming it around the floor just like Mr Nicholas drives the bus, we get to go swimming for a short bit. I marked yet another milestone in my efforts to being better in the water. I finally went into the spray ground without my goggles on! It was a very big deal to me! I think Mom was pleased!
Last weekend we started a project in the house. We are knocking the wall out in the piano room as I like to say. Really, we are reconfiguring it, but knocking it out sounds more fun. Dad let us help with the project by putting holes in the dry wall. That was really fun! Maybe I can learn to help him more and more with special projects!
