Happy 6th Birthday!

After lots of build-up, my 6th birthday was fairly low key. I got pancakes for breakfast, and a great dinner of my choice: chicken parmesan.  I also had a delicious rocket ship cake (the shape that I requested) decorated by Cora! We were going to ride the train at Pullen Park to celebrate, but storms ruined our plans. Overall though, it was a great birthday week. What made it extra special is the Friday before, Mom and Dad came to visit me at school. They bought me a book for my birthday, which I opened in front of my friends, then Mom read it to everyone. It was a cool book called Who Would Win: Komodo Dragon vs King Cobra. My friends really enjoyed it, as did I because it was a book about my favorite two kinds of animals! After the book was over, my friends sang to me, gave me some wishes, then everyone made a wish book for me. Plus, I wore my birthday shirt from Grammie to school, so everyone would know it was my birthday! It's hard to believe that I will only be a kindergartener for one more week! I guess my days of coming home in silly hats I've made at school are pretty much over! Boo!

Pre Birthday Fun

So much has been happening in the past week, and I haven't even had my birthday yet! We had a visit from Grammie and Gramps! The day after they got here, Cora had her First Communion Mass. It was nice, but even better, we had special visitors and cake! Mike, Sandy, Kaitlyn and Lauren came to celebrate with us. Before they left, I got to open my birthday present from them - so I started the celebration early!

The next day, Mom and Dad left to go on a trip with each other. For the next few days, we were parent free! Grammie and Gramps planned lots of great activities for us and we were able to accomplish a surprising amount of activities even going to school all day! One night I had a baseball game and I was able to show off my ball skills. I've become really good at hitting without the tee! And, one of the innings I got all three outs while playing pitcher! I think I really impressed Grammie and Gramps! After a hectic ending to the game with an approaching thunderstorm, we finished the evening making pizza apple pie!
The next evening after school, we had craft night. Gramps helped me make a new treasure box AND a toolbox out of wood! We glued, sanded, nailed, and before I knew it we were done! The sweat didn't even slow Gramps down - he sure knows woodworking!
Because we were still going to school, I enjoyed waking up in the morning and starting breakfast with Grammie. One morning we even had breakfast on the screen porch! The night Mom and Dad returned, we had ANOTHER birthday celebration! I got to open my presents from them and they sang happy birthday to me. Now I've got my birthday shirt and I am all ready for my actual birthday!

Crazy Kid

TUBE MAN!
Unless I'm complaining about something, I'm a real goofball. Whether I'm taking a goofy video on my tablet or acting silly in the dugout during T-ball games (I hit my first ball that Dad pitched to me last night!), I'm constantly acting silly. Dad sometimes tells me I can't be silly all the time, but if I could, I certainly would!

Little Slugger

T-ball practices are over and our games have officially started! I am so proud to be a New York Met! Dad is an excellent coach because guess what? We won our first game! (We aren't supposed to keep track, but of course Dad did.) The entire game was a great time! Even when we were sitting in the dugout waiting to bat, I was dancing around, talking and just having a blast. Then, when I was fielding, I would dance in the outfield! A couple of times Dad would have to yell at us, "Show me your set position!" He did so much yelling, he practically went hoarse the first game. Maybe once we get the hang of things, his job will be a little easier!
