A Kookaburra Good Time!

We had a visit from Mimi and Papa right in the middle of our kitchen remodel. That of course did not stop us from having a great time with them! We spent one day at the pool, another day at the bird park and the last day hanging out and playing games. I put Papa to the test, although he was pretty good at winning all my favorite games. It was still a good time! Mimi and I had a blast floating around and around the lazy river at the pool. The Sylvan Heights bird park was quite an interesting experience. We had to drive a ways to get there, but it was worth it. There was an exhibit where you could feed birds; it was okay at first but I was a little uncomfortable about the birds all around me. The kookaburra was really fun to listen to and I was somewhat bummed that I didn't get to see the vulture. In the tropical birds exhibit, there was a bird that wouldn't stop following me around. Anywhere you went, it would follow. But it never actually touched you, it would just stand there if you stopped moving. That, like the feeding the birds was okay for a while, but then it just got creepy. It was really cool seeing all those amazing birds and sharing the experience with Mimi and Papa!
We finished the weekend Mimi and Papa left celebrating Dad for Father's Day. I enjoyed watching Dad experience the Dad Jackpot I made for him at school. He deserves lots of jackpot after all the hard work he has been putting into the kitchen. He works a lot, but I know he still loves me so much. I'm excited that he is going to take me for a haircut this week! I prefer to do things with him that I have to do with Mom most of the time. We have a few days at home to relax (and play restaurant with Cora) before we embark on our annual summer trip to PA! Time to be silly!

Lots of Lasts

I finally made it to the end of kindergarten! It was a great year and my teacher is proud of how far I have come in just one year! Not only did I have my last day of school, I also had my last T-ball game two days later. Dad is impressed at how well I could hit the ball when he pitched in to me. I could usually connect with the ball after the second pitch, then I would sprint off to first base! It was a good season and perhaps I will play again next season.
I've had to wait since I got it for my birthday, but as promised, Mom let me open my pirate excavation kit and start working on it to discover the bones! With help from Cora and Mom, it turned out really well. We found all 11 bones to assemble Bartholomew Roberts! Now I have my pirate! It was a great first day out of school activity! A few days later we went to visit Cathy and her new baby, Addie! I surprised Mom for wanting to hold Addie. She liked me a lot and I liked the fact that she was so warm and cozy - doesn't she look like it!
