The Disney Adventure

Bright and early on Sunday morning, we set off on a bus from our hotel towards Animal Kingdom. Before I knew it, we were walking to our first adventure of many that would make my day great! My favorite ride would have to be It's Tough to be a Bug, a 4D movie that made me giggle. Luckily, Daddy was holding me tight when the bugs flew down from the ceiling and the bugs flew off the screen at me! I also really liked the Triceratops Spin. I got stuck riding it when Cora was riding the Yeti roller coaster. I liked it so I didn't mind riding it 4 times! Although it was sometimes boring to sit through the shows, I thought  the Festival of the Lion King show was cool, Finding Nemo the Musical was fun to watch, and I got to see elephants and rhinoceros on the Kilimanjaro Safari. I think I surprised Mommy and Daddy at how well I managed to walk around all day and not get tired. I was a little antsy when dinner took a long time at O'hana, but that's just because I was really excited for a new day exploring a new park!

Disney is such a magical place, it makes me giddy with excitement. It does not, however stop me from my normal talkative self. Before I continue on my recap of all the magical happenings, I would like to sum up much of my trip with a few key statements I have made repeatedly:

1) "Why are we going to Disney World*??" -*location can be replaced with any location or attraction at a Disney park
2) "Is this fake?" I ask this to reassure myself not to be scared or remind myself that I am on a ride.
3) "Is this ride going to go fast?"  After a ride goes fast or down a hill I say I like it, but I'm still unsure of rides that go fast.

Our adventure continued on Monday at Magic Kingdom. We arrived in the morning just as it was opening with characters dancing to welcome us and the thousands of people around us to the park. Our first stop was a visit with some princesses (it wasn't so bad meeting them, I think they thought I was cute) followed by the classic Dumbo ride and a small roller coaster, which I said I liked, but refused to go on again when Cora went on for a second spin. We took a ride on the Disney World Railroad to Frontierland where we rode on Splash Mountain. I was skeptical of the ride after I saw that it involved water AND going down a big hill, but Daddy convinced me that it would be okay. He shielded me from most of the water and the rest of the ride was enjoyable watching the different scenes of Brier Rabbit's adventure. We rode some more rides around Frontierland and saw a few shows then took a break for lunch. Following a trip on the riverboat we caught a parade. The floats were so cool!
We took in a few rides after that including the Tea Cups which I enjoyed, then we found ourselves in Tomorrowland where we saw the Monster's Inc show followed by a spin on the Tomorrowland Speedway! I drove Daddy around the track and it was so much fun, even though I could barely see over the steering wheel!

Soon after that it was time for another character meal! This time we got to see Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore and Tigger! It's so fun to be eating then all of a sudden a character comes to visit your table!
While we ate dinner there was a big thunderstorm that still continued when we finished. We were supposed to see fireworks when we were done, but they were postponed and we had to wait to see them. While we waited we rode some rides, including the rocket ships that spun high in the air! It was so cool riding them at night! We waited what seemed like forever until they finally did the Wishes fireworks show. Believe me it was well worth the wait. It was so magical watching the fireworks over the castle. It was magical! Plus, after the fireworks, we waited again for a second parade, the Main Street Electrical Parade. It was really late when it started and I was a bit dazed and tired as I watched the glowing, glittering floats twinkly along the street, but it was really cool. Plus we could sleep really late the following morning so Mommy and Daddy let us sleep late.

We're off to Disney!

Something amazing happened on Wednesday night. Everything was normal until after dinner, I discovered a huge box on our front porch. The box had my name and Cora's name on it. So, we proceeded to open it. Inside we found a bunch of wrapped boxes, and they were numbered to we would know which to open first. Each box had different things in it; one had clues in it sending us all over the house to find a backpack, another had a map in it and a picture of a hotel. Then, one of the boxes had puzzles in it - I had a bunch of dot to dot puzzles of some of my favorite Disney characters. After I did my puzzles, I helped Cora to solve one of her puzzles which revealed the secret message - WE ARE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!!!! Thursday seemed like the longest day ever, but the first thing I did when I got to school was tell my teachers where I was going on a trip! On Thursday we got all of our stuff packed for our big trip and Friday morning we were on the road!
We didn't drive all the way to Disney the first day and instead took our time stopping off for a visit in Savannah where we saw a HUGE ship in the river. After walking around a bit (and stopping at the infamous bench where Daddy proposed to Mommy) we went to dinner at the shark restaurant! When we were finished we got back in the car and drove a bit further to a hotel where we would stay for the night.

The next morning we had a few hours in the car before we finally made it to Orlando and Disney World! We went through a huge gateway that said Welcome to Disney World and found our hotel. We at lunch at the Contemporary Hotel and it was the best ever. Every few minutes the monorail train would drive through the building, right above where we were eating. And every time a train came, I would point, mesmerized first by the train, then announce which color it was. When we were finished we went to the swimming pool to cool off for a bit. I enjoyed the small slide by the pool, which I went on over and over again. They had games that Cora and I played by the pool including a water balloon toss. I couldn't figure out why sometimes when the balloon hit the ground, it would just disappear into nothing. I had fun at the pool, and just as they told us to get out of the pool because we heard thunder, our hotel room was ready (I called it our house) and we could go upstairs, act crazy and finally get showered off from the pool.

After dinner we got to take a ride on the monorail train! It was so cool! Following that, we had a surprise dinner at Chef Mickeys. I though that Chef Mickey was just a small figurine next to the restaurant, but little did I know I would meet all my favorite characters from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Minnie, Pluto, Donald, Goofy and Mickey!!! It was so exciting to see them! After dinner as we walked back to our room we saw fireworks over the castle at Magic Kingdom! I had such a wonderful first day at Disney I can't even imagine what is in store for us during our trip!!!

Loving School!

So far I have been having a fantastic time at school! I'm actually excited about going to school in the mornings because I have such a good time in Mrs. Burns and Mrs. Gawerecki's glass. Here's me in action at school!

Lots of Excitement!

I've been counting down the days from my staggered entry and it's finally here! I've officially started PreK 4!! Mommy was so impressed that when I got out of the car at school I said I was excited to go! When we got to our classroom, I gave Mommy a hug and walked right in! Cora followed me in the room, said hi to my teachers (because they were her teachers) and helped me hang up my bag and get my owl to hang on the tree. Then, she left, and that was it! I guess it's time to start acting like a big boy, and that's what I did today!
Going to school was the culmination of a great Labor Day weekend! Over the weekend Jeff, Anna, Ben and Libby came to visit us. Jeff is Mommy's cousin so Ben and Libby are my second cousins. I had met Jeff before so when they came I wasn't nervous at all. Ben and I liked playing legos and blowing bubbles together. He really liked my tractor too! On Sunday we went to Pullen Park where we got to ride the train and carousel. I like to say Baby Libby and I thought it was fun watching her splash around in the bathtub when Anna washed her. They left on Sunday, and I definitely needed to catch up on some rest.
Because Libby stayed in Cora's room, I got to have a sleep over with Cora in my bed! Before falling asleep we would talk, tell stories and giggle and I must say I was a bit cranky from a lack of sleep. Luckily, with the window's open, the cool air helped me sleep well on Sunday in preparation for Labor Day! We relaxed a bit and after lunch we had a special surprise! We drove downtown and although Cora and I kept guessing where we were going, we had no clue. The surprise was an IMAX movie! Not only that, it was The Secret Life of Pets in 3D!!! There were a few parts that scared me, like when the snakes came off the screen towards me and I had to put my hands over my glasses, but it was so much fun I sat on the edge of my seat the entire movie!
