And, Another Haircut

Marking my haircuts is becoming old now that I have 5 under my belt. I guess from this point forward I won't need to make a big deal of it. There are many kids, many girls in fact, older than me that STILL haven't had the opportunity to get a haircut so I pride myself in a thick head of hair for my age. After my haircut, my head feels lighter and I get an extra skip in my step. Mommy found this very obvious chasing me around the park today. Thankfully we have been able to get outside again after all the snow we had. I can't even say that I had fun in the snow, so I don't miss it one bit! The puddles snow makes can be fun, or the small piles of left over slush are good for throwing, but that's as good as it gets. The Winter Olympics has been on recently, and I have been practicing new words - ones that don't come up in normal conversation. Hockey, skating, skiing, are a few words that have been fun to learn, not to mention Cora's obsession with the GEICO commercials on TV. The other day I started screaming GEICO at the dinner table; Mommy and Daddy had no clue what I was saying at first. I was only 2 months old when the Olympics were on in 2012, so I find this occasion much more entertaining than the last.
I still love getting books at the park - one day a nice little boy sat on the bench with me and read me a book. He couldn't understand why after the third page I started screaming. That's just how I work. Maybe we will see him again and we can try it when I'm not so shy.

Exciting Firsts!

Even though it's dreary and we don't get outside much these days, I am trying to do things to make life inside a bit more exciting. Here are a few things I have managed to do in the past week. One even deserved a call to Daddy at work so I could tell him:

1) "I went potty." This was apparently such a momentous occasion that I had to tell Daddy on the phone. It was quite simple. One day while Mommy was helping Cora on the potty, I knew I had to poop so I pointed to the potty. Mommy put me on and I went. Guess it's just a guy thing. I promise that peeing in the potty will not be nearly as easy for me to do, so don't get too excited Mommy.

2) I can navigate the steps on my own: both up and down. Mommy and Daddy find it entertaining that when I am preparing my decent, I begin about three feet away from the steps by getting on all fours and slowly backing up to the steps. It works for me, so that's how it's going to go for now.

3) I enjoy wearing glasses - and keep them on my face. I know this sounds a bit odd because most people don't wish corrective lenses on themselves, but it't not what you think. It's the fun sunglasses that I wear now. And I ask about 30 times a day for help to put them on. If I don't say so myself, it's a good look!
