Just January!

Tree skirt shenanigans cleaning up Christmas
It's the middle of winter and we have a holiday from school to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr Day. We're spending the day inside since the weather is frightfully cold, yet sunny outside. Interestingly enough, I finally decided I was ready to take swim lessons. Mom took no time in signing me up to take lessons with Taylor - she's a great teacher! I'll be swimming by the summer for sure! Things are slow at home today so I thought I would blog about my past few weeks since going back to school for the new year:
I started taking swim lessons!

Christmas Visitors

Lego assembly with Papa
The afternoon of Christmas I was so involved with building my new Lego set from Santa that Mimi and Papa arrived before I even knew it! Shortly after they arrived we went to the park for a little bit before returning home to a yummy roast beef dinner. After dinner we got to open our presents from Mimi and Papa and enjoy the last moments of Christmas day before it was time for bed.
For the next few days, we enjoyed spending time with Mimi and Papa, playing with new toys from Christmas. Mimi and Papa got me a superhero Lego set that I assembled all on my own in just a short time. We also took time during the day to explore some new parks. One of the parks had a zip line that I didn't want to go on at first, but I finally tried. After one try, I didn't want to stop. Mimi couldn't stop laughing at how my pants got stuck on the rubber seat every time Mom loaded me onto ti.
Xmas PJ's
It was a nice, relaxing few days after Christmas and I especially enjoyed spending time with Mimi and Papa. It was so awesome that we started trackout with Grammie and Gramps and finished it with Mimi and Papa! What a wonderful time!

Ho Ho Ho Christmas 2018!

Another Merry Christmas in the books! All the hype leading up to the big day did not disappoint. Plus, we spaced everything out so we ended up baking cookies and assembling the gingerbread house a few days before Christmas eve. Christmas Eve morning, Cora and I greeted Mom and Dad when they came down the steps with an enthusiastic "Merry Christmas Eve!" We had a nice relaxing day, complete with our traditional spetzel soup and Christmas Eve mass. When we got home from church, we opened up family exchange presents while enjoying some cheese and crackers. I got some clothes and socks from Mom and Dad, plus we got a new video game system too! Before going to bed we chose our best cookies to leave for Santa, left a carrot for the reindeer and wrote letters for Santa's visit. Then, we went to bed and waited for the magic to happen.
Ho Ho Ho!
I didn't hear a peep downstairs all night long, even though I fought going to sleep as much as I could. Santa certainly delivered this year! I got everything on my list and more! Here's what I got: a robe (I was disappointed when I didn't open it Christmas Eve), a Christmas shirt, a fitbit watch, cones for soccer, a new backpack, a lego set (I built it all by myself THAT day), Operation Game, a radio, a new Dog Man book, some hair gel, pens and pads of paper! I was so overjoyed that I got everything I wanted plus a few unexpected things. Merry Christmas!
