I'm TWO!!!

The month of May seemed to drag on and on and on, but my birthday finally came! And, this year is coincided with Memorial Day as well. So, while we stayed home to remember all those who have served our country, we also celebrated my 2-year birthday! I had a great day! I got to open my presents in the morning which meant I got to play with them all day long. This year's theme was vehicles, mostly trucks. I love my monster truck the most, but I also love my remote control car, train mat and my sandbox trucks. My sandbox! I almost forgot about my sandbox! I got a sandbox too! Cora is lucky that I let her play with all my toys because they are all so much fun. After a long day of fun, we ate dinner with Cathy who came to visit us and had birthday cake! Mommy (Daddy helped) made me a cake that looked like a turtle! And I was able to blow the candles too!! I couldn't think of a better way to spend my birthday spent with my favorite people on such a special day!

Strawberry Season!

My mouth is so full, I can barely tell you how much fun I had picking strawberries this season!! The best part about being older is I can pick my own strawberries and they go straight into my mouth. By the end of the season I could pick the strawberry AND remove the green cap so I could just start munching! The weekend of Mother's Day we picked strawberries as a family, then got to play at the farm. I had a blast sitting in the airplane! Then, the following weekend we had a festival at our neighborhood where I got to sit on a fire truck! I'm really enjoying this summer weather and spending so much time outdoors!
This past week we also had a visit from Mimi! We went swimming, got to watch airplanes, went for a picnic and hike and when we were at home she and I had fun spending time together  - although I did boss her around a few times telling her where and when she could sit while I was playing.

Fun at Home!

Only two more weeks until Cora finishes school. That means I won't get my Mommy alone time anymore. I do like that, but I enjoy being with Cora as well. She's a great teacher, loves to sing and cuddle with me and I don't get into trouble as much when she is in the pictures. My innocent little face does wonders.
This week, Cora went on a field trip with Mommy, which meant that I got to spend the day with Daddy! He and I had a great time, and what made it better is we went shopping at Lowe's together. I love that store, probably more than the supermarket. That's saying quite a bit considering that the supermarket has free cookies!

In the Water

Well, it was bound to happen even eventually. I took a tumble in the pond. Even though it was a little scary, Mommy and Daddy are worried that I enjoyed it and will do it again. I have been talking about going in the water a lot. The worst part about the whole ordeal is that after we rushed home, Mommy showered me down from head to toe and I DID NOT LIKE IT! Needless to say, we have not walked around the lake any time recently. It may be a while until we do it again, especially with the weather as nice as it is (I may be tempted to take a dip). The weekend weather has been so beautiful, perfect for family outings. The other weekend we participated in a walk that supported Mommy. I got to wear a sticker for her while we enjoyed a family walk together.
Although I still get my colors confused, I have finally started to sing the ABC's. I like to sing it at the most random times, but I'm starting to get the hang of it. Cora is a great help if I get stuck in the middle. I've also become very interested in digging. The other day, Mommy took us to the park with the sandbox so we could play in it. I think Mommy and Daddy would prefer us to do that instead of digging up mulch in the backyard. Once I perfect my digging skills I will be able to help Mommy plant the vegetable garden. This year I just watched, if you call watching running around with sticks and digging in the mulch. I'm excited to see what grows in the garden!
