An Uphill Climb

Uphill climb is a huge understatement when it comes to potty training - I'm still trying to make it the whole day without an accident so I can get my ice cream cone! I guess the longer I do it and the more times I go on the potty, I will eventually figure it out. Speaking of uphill climbs, over the weekend we climbed a big hill! On our way to the park where the big hill was, I kept saying I wanted to go home and that I didn't want to go. I'm glad we stayed the course and climbed the hill because I had fun! Too bad potty training isn't as easy as climbing a hill! I got to spend some special time with Daddy reading books and talking about potty training, so maybe it will help me!
I love reading and singing. My favorite song to sing is still Row Row Row Your Boat. I see no reason to add any new songs to my repertoire when that one is so great. On occasion I will sing backup for Cora as she sings her favorite songs, but that's about the extent of my singing for now.

Tow Trucks!

Waiting patiently to wear my new, clean underwear!
Tow Trucks is my new pet name for underwear! The other day at the store, Mommy and Daddy let me pick out my own new underwear. I picked the Cars underwear! Some of them have Mater (the tow truck) on them so I call them tow trucks! I was doing really well with my potty training, especially when Mommy would ask me every half hour if I had to go. Now, she doesn't ask me as often so I can learn, but I'm still trying to get the hang of knowing exactly when to go. Needless to say, we've been going though a lot of tow trucks and pants in the past few days....lots of opportunity for underwear pictures!

Potty Progress

It's been a good week so far, I think better than Mommy anticipated! I'm starting to get used to going on the potty, although it's a bit of an adjustment that can be hard at times. Because we are potty training, Mommy and I have been staying close to home this week. It's not a problem because we can go outside to enjoy the beautiful weather, plus I have been helping her in the garden! I love picking tomatoes. Eating them isn't my favorite, but Mommy appreciates what a big help I am in the garden!

School Pro!

For the final day before we track out of school, I got nothing but a glowing review from Ms Tracey! I no longer worry when Mommy leaves in the morning and aside from asking constantly when Mommy will pick me up during lunchtime, I'm doing well at school! I am going to miss going to school for the next couple of weeks.  Mommy tells me that during my time off we are going to be spending a lot of time on the potty. I'm not sure what that means, but I can't wait for a new adventure!
One of my newest activities is throwing balls. I have perfected my wind up and throw. My favorite place to practice is in the playroom, preferably right before bed, in my pj's!

My First Pet!

The other morning while Cora was at school, Mommy and I were tending the garden and we found a caterpillar. It had eaten most of the parsley, so we decided to make him our pet! I helped Mommy put sticks and stones and some leaves into his new home. Now we can watch him grow big and hopefully he will make himself a cocoon and transform into a butterfly! I named my new pet Very Hungry, as in "The Very Hungry Caterpillar". Our caterpillar looks very similar to the one in the book because he is green! Let's hope he is happy in his new home!
I also have to report that today was the first day (my 8th week) that Ms Tracey reported that I did not cry at all. On our way into school, I told Mommy I wasn't going to cry at school, and I stayed true to my word! I am very proud of myself!

New Shoes!

Even though I have been in school for the past 6 weeks, I just got my new shoes for the fall!  I practiced wearing them when I was outside with Mommy this morning. Now that Cora is in school again, I'm going to have a lot of one on one time with her again!
For Labor Day weekend we had more visitors: Grammie and Gramps! They brought birthday presents for Cora, but they brought me gifts too! I got a new tractor that I love to drive around everywhere! I had a fun weekend spending time with them! This time we all baked apple pie pizza together (I got to sprinkle on the crumble topping) and I enjoyed reading to Gramps. I guess summer fun is over and it's time to get used to a new routine.
