Track out had only just started when we were already off for a great adventure in West Virginia! We went to a place called Snowshoe to go skiing. We woke up on Sunday morning and drove for 6 hours, then finally arrived. When we got there we suited up in our snow clothes and were going to go uno tubing, except it was too warm and the snow tubes didn't slide very well. We tried it once and while I enjoyed relaxing in my tube for the rope tow ride up the hill, going down wasn't the most fun. I stopped halfway down and Mom came barreling into me when I had stopped. I DID NOT like that at all! At least we got to try it.

The next day we were signed up for ski lessons! It provided a refresher on getting used to the skis again. There were 3 kids in my class and we got to ski all the way down the mountain twice! Mom and Dad would show up from time to time to watch me and I was proud of how well I was going. I yelled, "I went down a green hill!" as I passed by them. That day was also Mom's birthday so we had a special dinner out at Foxfire restaurant.

The next day of skiing, Mom took Cora and me out on the mountain. In the morning when we went out, the wind was blowing so hard we started to ski backwards when we first put on our skis. I almost didn't want to go skiing, but we managed to get to the bottom of the hill and at that point I was hooked again! We went up and down the lift so many times I lost count. It was such a fun day skiing. I didn't fall all day to Mom's surprise. I have a tendency to ski straight down the hill as fast as I can. On one occasion, I managed to run straight into a lady that had fallen. I was going so fast I didn't see her. Luckily I ran straight into her butt so no one got hurt. It's kind of hard putting skis on in the middle of the ski hill, but I managed with a little bit of help from Mom. Aside from a short break at lunch, we skied most of the day. After lunch, I went out with Cora and Mom for a bit, then I took a break to be with Dad. We enjoyed a waffle and hot chocolate, then after that I took two runs with just Mom which was fun.
The next day we had to leave. I enjoyed staying at the hotel and taking a short trip to Snowshoe. I can't wait for another family trip!
